This Privacy Policy describes how Studio Baby Platform Ltd collects, uses, and protects your personal information. Your privacy is important to us.
This notice explains how Studio Baby Platform Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 17435258, whose registered office is at 8, 242 Westbourne Studios, Acklam Road, London W10 5JJ ("Studio Baby", "we", "us") handles personal data. We are registered with the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) under reference ZC272849. We are the controller of your account data: the details you give us to create and run your Studio Baby account, your use of the Platform, and our own billing records. For data about members of a studio, the Studio Owner is the controller and we process that data on the Studio Owner's behalf as their processor (see section 3).
We collect information you provide directly: name, email, profile information, and content you upload. We also collect usage data including pages visited, features used, and interaction patterns. Card details are collected and held by Stripe, not by us; we receive limited payment records such as amounts, dates and subscription status.
When you join a studio, the Studio Owner decides how your membership data is used and is the controller of it. We host and process it for them under a written data processing agreement that meets Article 28 of the UK GDPR. Questions or requests about a studio's use of your data can go to the Studio Owner, or to us at privacy@studiobaby.com and we will pass them on and help the Studio Owner respond.
We use your information to: (a) provide and improve the Platform (performance of our contract with you), (b) process payments and keep financial records (contract and legal obligation), (c) communicate with you about your account (contract), (d) personalise your experience and keep the Platform secure and prevent fraud (our legitimate interests), and (e) send marketing, where you have agreed to it (consent, which you can withdraw at any time). Providing your name and email address is a contractual requirement: we need them to create and run your account, and if you do not provide them we cannot provide the Platform to you. Payment details are needed only if you buy a membership or plan, and without them we cannot take that payment. Other information, such as profile details, is optional.
We share information with: (a) Studio Owners, for the members of their studios, (b) Stripe, to process payments, (c) service providers who host and run the Platform for us under contract, such as hosting, database, authentication, video and storage providers, and (d) authorities where the law requires it. We do not sell your personal information.
Some of our service providers process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where they do, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or on appropriate safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. You can ask us for details at privacy@studiobaby.com.
We retain your data while your account is active. After account deletion, we may retain certain data for up to 90 days for legal and operational purposes, and financial records for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
Under UK data protection law you have the right to: (a) access your data, (b) correct inaccuracies, (c) have your data erased, (d) restrict or object to processing, (e) receive your data in a portable format, and (f) withdraw consent and opt out of marketing communications. To use these rights, contact privacy@studiobaby.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk); we would appreciate the chance to deal with your concern first. We do not make any decision about you based solely on automated processing, including profiling, that produces legal effects concerning you or similarly significantly affects you.
We use strictly necessary cookies to sign you in, keep your account secure and remember choices you make on the Platform. We also use Mux Data playback analytics, provided by Mux, Inc., which measures video playback performance and quality and may set a cookie to recognise a returning viewer. Our policy is that non-essential cookies are set only with your consent. At present Mux Data runs when the Platform loads, without asking for consent first; we are adding a consent control and will update this notice when it is in place. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings.
We use appropriate technical and organisational security measures, including encryption in transit, access controls, and secure data storage with our hosting providers.
Studio Baby is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
We may update this notice periodically. We will notify you of significant changes via email or platform notification.
